Specifically, I love the fact that Ludvik is sitting between Luca and the light source. It's like Ludvik is hiding the sun (freedom) frome Luca by taking him in his arms. There's a very strong 'eclipse' feel here from my point of view.
Is Luca kneeling? *unsure*
The fact that the positions are hard to read because of the shadow isn't necessarily a problem (you might have been wishing for it), but I'm not sure whether it's a choice so.
